Michelle (Perry) Wendell is a life long resident of Columbus and brought Scott to the community over 20 years ago. Together they raised five children. Two of their three adult children still live in Columbus and a third is attending the University of Minnesota. Their youngest son is a senior at Forest Lake High School. There are four generations of Perry/Wendells living near each other and three generations attended Columbus Elementary.
Scott grew up in New Brighton, Minnesota and graduated from Mounds View High School. He earned his Associate of Arts degree in Law Enforcement at Golden Valley Lutheran College/Minneapolis Community College and his Bachelor's of Science degree in Ministry at the University of Northwestern in St. Paul.
I'm pleased to have worked in law enforcement and transportation, both industries that support the Minnesota Special Olympics, a charity close to our hearts. My uncle was a special olympic athlete for years. This year we were able to get my current employer, FreshPoint - Bix Produce to participate in the Worlds Largest Truck Convoy to raise money for this great cause. As Columbus residents, we should all take pride that this event starts at the Running Aces Hotel in our beautiful city. Scott Wendell is more than a candidate; he is a devoted leader who believes in the potential of each citizen to contribute to a vibrant community. His approach is rooted in core principles that aim to uplift and unite all residents.
